A few days ago Japan was ravaged by one of the worst earthquakes in their history and was also hit by a tsunami from the aftermath of the quake. This caused tons of damage along the coasts and even buried some towns under water. The death toll is believed to be above 10,000 right now but it is likely to continue to rise. A new issue arose from the nuclear threat after a factory had a meltdown. The new fear is a nuclear fallout from the released material and many more people will likely be displaced. The world is sending many relief efforts to Japan to try to help them recover from this terrible tragedy.
This developing story is incredibly sad and tough to research. I couldnt imagine what a natural disaster would be like in the U.S. and I hope nobody has to deal with what the Japanese had to. It is good to see the worldwide support for Japan as many countries are sending over supplies and services to help rebuild and feed the population. The first day I read about the Japanese MLB players fearing for thier families in Japan and that was before the nuclear problems. I hope the relief effort goes well and Japan can regroup.
